As
an active member of our local community in the City of Durham,
the Eagles’ Summit Christian Fellowship Church
family has been moved to action by the gang activity that occurred
recently in our
neighborhood. Because of the increase in gang involvement among
our youth we believe that all members of the community must work
together
to preserve and protect our families and businesses as a whole.
Eagles’ Summit
has decided to address this issue by hosting EAGLES’ SUMMIT
OUTREACH DAY on May 5, 2007 from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m at our
church location, 2000 Chapel Hill Road in the
Shoppes at Lakewood. Eagles’ Summit’s purpose is to not
only increase awareness about issues that affect our community but
to also bring restoration into the lives of people through teaching
and programs aimed at social and economic empowerment, leadership
training, and the development of children and youth while encouraging
people to be proactive citizens and leaders.
Our Community
Outreach Day is open to the general public, parents, business owners,
and anyone concerned about the
safety and protection
of their community. We anticipate attendance of between 100-300 adults,
young people and children. This event promises to be an exciting
event that will not only provide an avenue to promote community protection
and safety but it will also encourage healthy living, sports, dance,
children’s activities, relaxation, beauty, food, family, and
life in Durham.
