JOB DESCRIPTION:

Given the ministry’s current growth, Eagles’ Summit is currently seeking a spirit-filled Part-Time Minister of Music/Musician to enable the ministry to move to the next level of excellence in ministering to the needs of God’s people through music. This is a wonderful development opportunity for the right person! Our ministry environment demands a high level of skill, excellence and integrity. The role of the Minister of Music requires a personal passion for God and a commitment to creating a worship experience that draws people to Christ.

Reports to: Pastor and Worship Team Leader

Responsibilities:

  • Select, coach and train members of the Praise and Worship Team, Choir & Musicians
  • Work with Worship Leader/Pastor by attending and contributing to all worship planning meetings
  • Works with Worship Leader/Pastor in overseeing and executing all worship services including every Sunday of the year, Wednesday services, Special Conferences and Events
  • Assist with auditions and team building of Praise & Worship Team and Choir Members
  • Play piano/keyboard for all services and rehearsals
  • Conduct weekly rehearsals
  • Ongoing recruitment of singers and musicians
  • Coordinate Powerpoint presentations for worship services
  • In depth knowledge and exposure to a wide variety of contemporary gospel music as well as traditional hymns

Requirements:

  • Excellent keyboard and piano skills. Must be an accomplished keyboardist/pianist with the ability to sight read as well as improvise. Classical training a plus!
  • Above average vocal, oral and written communication skills
  • Good people skills
  • Computer skills—MS Word, MS Powerpoint, music software
  • Passion for worship, punctuality, excellence; able to lead others into the presence of God
  • Comfortable working as a team player
  • Must be a self-starter with persistence, a high energy level and willingness to make a long-term commitment.

Experience:

  • 2-3 years working with praise teams/choirs in medium to large church settings
