In the third book of John, verse two, as the
disciple John teaches about God's way, he shares God's will for
us physically as well as spiritually. It reads "Beloved, I
wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health,
even as thy soul propsereth". From the beginning of mankind,
God's will was for us to live a life void of evil but the fall
of the first man Adam brought devastating consequences that plaque
us today. But God always provides a way of escape for us. "For
not as the offense, so also is the free gift. For if through the
offense of one many be dead, much more the grace of God and the
gift by grace, which is by one, Jesus Christ, which abounded many".
(Romans 5:15)
God always sees us healed. God is a spirit and in the spirit realm our
spirits are already whole. The body is nothing more than the shell. We
have to line up with the spirit by taking care of the body. Healing can
be obtained by actively (1) believing God's Word, (2) speaking God's
Word and (3) applying natural principles along with spiritual principles.
While Jesus walked the earth, healing all who were sick and oppressed
of the devil, He had a physician walk alongside Him. As we are pursuing
healing, it is important that we also work with physicians and other
professionals God has gifted to help us to obtain and maintain our healing.
The ideal situation is that every Christian
take active pursuit of physical fitness and wholeness. Our earthen
vessels are temples of God and should be treated as such. Physical
fitness, emotional fitness, proper rest and diet should be a daily
ritual for us so that we are always walking in a constant state
of health and wholeness. But there are times when we have done
all we know to do and have to depend solely on God for supernatural
healing. James 5:14-16 instructs the sick to call on the elders
so that they can pray the prayer of faith that they may be healed.
Following God's instructions our Pastor has recorded a prayer of
faith for restoration and healing.
