The union of two equally
yoked believers is a blessing from God. From the beginning, God's
compassion moved him to provide a mate for Adam. When Adam named
her he said she was the bone of his bone and the flesh of his
flesh.
The right union ordained by God brings Him glory.
Pastor Lilly also reminds us often that the road to marriage begins
with each person, male and female, functioning first as healthy,
whole individuals. This means that God celebrates not just marriage
between a male and a female, but singleness and wholeness as well.
(I Corinthians 7:27) He further emphasizes that there should be
no competition between those who are and choose to marry or those
who are single by choice or circumstances like timing, preparation
or personal choice. The key is remembering that we each are created
to give God pleasure by working together with Him to impact our
generation and help make our society better for everyone. In marriage
we should learn to practice the power of agreement even with our
unique differences. (Matthew 18:19)
As a single person we learn and practice the power
of agreement as we connect with our individual selves as well as
others! Still our ultimate goal is to learn to function well both
inside and outside of marriage! We are each a necessary part of
the body of Christ here to represent the Kingdom of God in the
earth realm until the end of time!
