The
word salvation by definition simply means deliverance from
evil or difficulty. Biblically this salvation or deliverance
comes only through belief that Jesus Christ was the living
Son of God. We believe that Jesus was sent by God
(John 3:16) for the sole purpose of dying on the cross to
redeem man from the sin and disobedience that had severed
their relationship with God. Because man is a sinner
(Romans 3:23) and cannot save himself (Isaiah 53:6), salvation
can only be achieved through belief and faith in Jesus Christ. Salvation
is a gift (Ephesians 2:8) and doesn't cost man anything
because Jesus has already paid the price. However
in order to receive this gift, man must acknowledge that
he is a sinner and repent from his sins, confess with his
mouth that Jesus Christ died and was raised from the dead
by God, and accept this truth (Jesus) into his heart (Romans
10:9-10).
Once
this is done, you immediately become a recipient of the "free" gift
of eternal life. Jesus died on the cross for everyone. The
Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some men count
slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing
that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. 2
Peter 3:9 Have you reached a place where you continue to
look for something or someone to fill a void? Only
coming to a relationship with God thru His son Jesus Christ
can meet all your needs and satisfy the longing in your
soul. The Lord is gently
calling you. He loves you. Won't you answer His call
today? You
can receive Christ into your heart right where you are,
right now.
Simply pray this prayer out loud:
Lord
Jesus, I no longer want to live the life that I'm
living. I have come to a point in my life where I can no longer make it on my own. I
need a Saviour. I confess right now that I am a sinner. I repent of my sins and
I choose to make a 180 degree turn away from my sins to a life of righteousness. I
change my mind, I change my heart and I surrender completely to the Lordship of Jesus Christ.
I confess that Christ died for my sins and that you [God] raised Him from the dead.
I believe in my heart that Jesus is alive and dwelling in me right now. Thank you Lord
for saving me. Amen
If
you prayed this prayer aloud you are now saved. The
next step in the salvation process is to be baptized in
water as a command of Christ. It represents how Christ
died, was buried and rose from the dead for us. Now
that you are saved, the responsibility of every Christian
is to obey God's Word. This
can only take place by you getting planted in a Bible
teaching, faith believing, Spirit-filled, Bible based
church so that you can grow spiritually.
