The
vision of Eagles' Summit is embedded in the scriptures in the
book of Nehemiah 1:3 and 2:6. In Nehemiah's memoirs, he shares
his account of his strong desire to bring restoration to his
native Jewish people after their Babylonian captivity. While
Ezra once brought about spiritual establishment, there was still
a need for physical restoration and stability. Though Nehemiah
was in a high position, when he saw that his people were in
great affliction, he chose to leave his place of royalty and
honor to restore and rebuild the walls of Jerusalem. What a
wonderful account of God's complete redemptive plan for our
lives once we come to know Him as our personal Saviour and Lord.
During
Pastor Lilly's thirty-two years plus of ministry experience,
he witnessed that though many Christians came to know Jesus
as their personal Savior, they still were not living the victorious
life that God planned salvation to bring us. God's people were
born again but their finances were torn down and they were bound
by debt. Their names were written in the Lamb's Book of Life,
but they were still bound by past wounds and emotionally cast
down. The people were broken, addicted to drugs and alcohol,
and generally dysfunctional. They would worship at church on
Sundays and Wednesdays but the remainder of the week they were
imprisoned by ungodly marriages, facing challenges with their
children, underemployed, underpaid, living beneath their means
and having no idea of how to actually walk in the promises and
inheritance and that they were being told they could have. Though
Jesus had set them free, they remained very much in captivity.
While
praying fervently for God's people, Pastor Lilly received his
life's assignment in a vision. Pastor has an understanding that
his responsibility as a leader of God's people far surpasses
the first step of leading them to Christ. He also has accepted
the responsibility to disciple them by nurturing the entire
Christian growth process beginning with the acceptance of Jesus
Christ as personal Saviour through to the equipping process
until they grow up in all things into Him who is the head, Christ.
Ephesians 4: 11-15
The
ministry's logo shown here is a pictorial description of the
vision for restoration given to Pastor Lilly. The logo compares
the restoration process to a man embarking on a mountain climb
not completely aware of the difficult places he’ll have to go
through in order to reach the top. He makes it to the summit,
but the condition of his clothes indicates that his journey
to the summit left him torn, bruised, and at times bleeding.
Nevertheless, he chose to make the climb. Only one who has accomplished
such a climb can truly understand what it takes to get to the
top. Only he can advise on which directions to take, which dangers
to avoid, how to conquer each cliff
without falling off and how to walk through the valley in order
to reach the summit.
